Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, and the British Museum

The next day we got up and headed for the British Museum, which everyone was thoroughly impressed with. We spent a good three hours there, but I think Kenneth could have spent a week there. He was determined to get a picture with the Rosetta Stone, but of course there were huge crowds around it. We looked around, realized there was no one around the back, so we got our picture. (“What? There’s supposed to be writing on it? This is the back, you say? Oops.”) Despite it being in English, due to the terrible London maps and confusing system, we didn’t get much else done that day. I like a lot of things about London but I missed France and its amazing public transportation, for one thing.

The next day we saw the Tower of London, which was pretty cool. So much history. Anne Boleyn was beheaded there, as well as many others. We also saw St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre that day. We were hoping to catch an Evensong performance at St. Paul’s, which we thought was to happen that night, but apparently we, and a lot of other people were quite misinformed, because nothing took place.
