P.S. to Korean Culture

So I somehow forgot to mention a few things when it comes to the women in Korean culture.  I mentioned that it is very important to look good at all times, but here's a few more examples of what they will do to achieve that.  Girls as young as twelve or thirteen will constantly be checking themselves in their compact mirrors, fixing their hair, etc., even in all girls schools!  Related to that, there are mirrors EVERYWHERE in Korea, in elevators, random hallways, you name it.  Sometimes it's nice when you actually do want to make sure you look ok, but most of the time it's kind of unnerving... Girls here also tend to wear extremely short skirts and shorts.  Their shirts are usually modest, but their shorts are just ridiculous.  They may or may not wear tights underneath them. 

And finally, the most extreme example of how far Korean women will go to look good/western is the surgeries they will endure.  Asians do not have double eyelids like westerners, and they find that very beautiful.  Many gorgeous Korean girls/women talk about how they want to get the double eyelid surgery to feel more beautiful.  It's sad.  They will also get surgery to elongate their legs, and we even saw ads on the subway for surgery to shrink your bones to make yourself as tiny as possible!!  This is not healthy people!
