Poppleton, Or There and Back Again

The power cord on Jon's laptop recently decided to breathe its last. As it was still under warranty, the search for an Apple provider began. It ended with us riding our bikes 9 miles to Poppleton. (Don't you just love English names?) Not much to say about it, we rode there, ordered the power cord, rode back. Jon rode out to get it the next day. But it was a beautiful ride. Luckily the sun decided to shine for us. We began our ride through city center, through the York Museum Gardens, meeting up with a National Cycle Route that followed the River Ouse through green rolling fields where ducks and dogs played (separately, of course). While it was a beautiful day, it had rained the night before. Thus this little trail was quite muddy. At first we rode slowly, trying to avoid mud splashing up on us and dodging the largest of the puddles. By the time we got there we realized our efforts had been for naught as we were covered in mud anyway. So, as we rode back, I rode into the largest puddles and giggled as I splashed mud all up on my bike, pants and jacket. I was a mess :)
