Unbelievably, it is the night before we leave. We have now been at home for a week and a half. We've tried to shave a few pounds off the chunky dogs by walking them most nights, and even to the park a couple of times. They thanked us heartily. Well, except Fritz who still isn't too sure about the whole walking thing. I've never seen a dog who seemed to be so uninterested in walking.
We also made a couple of trips to Bend. First Jon and I went by ourselves and did a bit of Christmas shopping. Then, the whole gang went into town for dinner and a movie. The exciting event was on Saturday, a pre birthday celebration! We drove to Portland, met up with Kenneth, Candice, and Adam, and enjoyed an interactive murder mystery dinner. They certainly kept us on our toes and entertained, and mom even won the drawing for guessing the murderer. The gifts were lovely and I can now saw we are fully equipped to purchase our bicycles upon arrival in York!
Our bags are packed, our carry-ons and check-ins are packed to their maximum capacity. Hopefully they'll let us fudge on a few pounds as we try to cram everything we can possibly remember into those eight bags.
Much delicous food has been consumed and enjoyed over the past few days, and the desert girl in me will certainly miss all the sunshine here during the foggy days in England. Mom offered to send Mischa with us, but sadly we will have to leave her and many other lovely things and people behind as we start this new journey, but will luckily be back to enjoy it all in two short months.
